Took this photo of just one stem of these beautiful chrocosmia that I grow in my garden. They are perennial and each year the clump of these stunning flowers gets bigger and bigger. It gives great impact to a garden.

I'm a 72 year old wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Eight years ago, I finally decided to explore my creative side to see where it might take me. My absolute passion has become photography. April of 2011, I finally purchased my first DSLR camera and realized I have so much to learn technically. My point and shoot was so much easier, but limiting. I must admit to being a 'slow learner' when it comes to the technical aspects of photography. I'm not professionally trained, yet feel I have a natural eye. I've been encouraged by many family and friends to pursue this with as much passion and enthusiasm as I can muster.
